I have come a long way so far and so close to completing my goal! Counting down to my 30th birthday where I want to start the next decade happy and healthy! Please feel free to add comments! They can be words of encouragement, helpful tips or a little banter like "hey, that snickers bar isn't going to help you to your goal"!! This blog is really for me but support is always welcome and if I can inspire someone else to get off the couch and get healthy then that is great! I know first hand how fast the pounds can creep up on you and how hard it is to first decide to make a change, find a routine that works, commit to it and accomplish it! Once I complete the goal it doesn't end there. It's time to get healthy and stay healthy!

Friday, Friday, Friday!!

Only 2 more Fridays until the big 30! My emotions about the day have been up and down. We just booked our hut (room) whatever it is on Mt Fuji on the 29th. We will climb a little more then half way I think stay in the hut for a few hours until about 2 am when we will continue up Fuji in the dark to get to the top for sunrise on my Birthday! I am really excited about this. Over the last couple weeks we have been working out the plans/details. We just need to pick up a few little things this weekend and besides snacks we are all set! I think I will probably hit up a base friend to help me get some good snacks the week of! :o)

I have a crazy busy 1 1/2 leading up to my birthday! I think I have 9-10 photoshoots! Hopefully I will be able to get my workouts in! However shooting in this weather is by far a workout in it self. Yesterday I had 2 shoots back to back as well as ran 10 miles before that! I had weighed myself in the morning and by the time I got back from the shoot I had lost just over 4 pounds!! Holy moly! That was mostly water weight so this morning much of that is back!

This week I only lost .5 pounds. I have been slacking on keeping track of my in/outs. But Ill will start back up today. I really want to achieve my goal and at the end of the week I want to be able to look back and not say hmmm I wonder why I only lost .5 pounds. I do however somewhat think that it's not getting to those last 10 pounds which everyone claims to be the absolute hardest to lose. I don't know that I can lose another 6.5 pounds before the 30th. Steve says that you will lose about 5 pounds climbing up. Soooo maybe I only need to lose 1.5! lol I have been starting to feel really great. Even though the main areas I am measuring are not going down all that much I am for sure noticing a difference in other areas! I think at this point the only thing I am really hating are my arms still.  Everything just needs to be toned up. And I think this will take longer then 2 weeks and I am okay with that. At least I have gotten my weight down to where I want it and am feeling pretty good!!

2nd week of August is Obon week! We will be heading down to Izu Peninsula (not too far away) with a work friend of Steves. There is nice white sand beaches there I guess and we will apparently be learning to surf. Or at least Steve will! It sounds really fun but I am so afraid of what is lurking in the waters. Sorry but I have seen a lifetimes worth of Jelly fish in the waters here as well as many different things in the grocery stores that I am afraid to go in the water here. I may just be sitting on the beach taking photos instead and working on a tan! lol I would love to get up enough courage to get out there so we will see. :o) Anywho... I have a little less then a month before I will be in a bikini!!! Wish me luck!

Friday July 9th

This past Sunday I ran my first 16 miles! It was awesome. I felt great! I still can't believe that I did the full 16 without any walking! It was great to accomplish as it really made me feel like I will really be able to get to 26.2! The marathon my friend Amanda and I will be doing is still not decided. Hoping for the weekend of December 5th. Could be Vegas could be Memphis it's still up in the air. But I think I will for sure be ready! I have 160 miles planned for the month of July! So far so good. I don't go up in miles again until August when I do my first 18 mile run! That sounds SOOOO far lol! I hope that by then I will have a good idea about what pace I am working towards for the marathon. I think I would be happy completing my fist marathon under 4hrs 20 mins. I was hoping for under 4 hours but I don't know if I can be ready for that by December. Maybe I will shoot for that in 2011!

Otherwise not too bad of a week. My schedule was off quite a bit with Steve being out of town again. I couldn't seem to sleep very well through the night keeping me pretty tired through out the day. Did quite a bit of junk food snacking after receiving a care package from home. However I still managed to lose a pound! :o) I am getting so close to my goals yet some parts of me I am thinking it's going to take a little longer then expected.

I am a fan of Jillian Michaels as everyone pretty much knows. This week I will be jumping up a level in my workouts with her. Still same amount of days just workouts should be a tougher which will be great. I have been feeling like these workouts I am currently on are a little too easy. It's game face time! I also just got some whey protein today! Which I plan on taking at least 5 days a week after each run. The most important thing I am looking for is the Amino Acids it provides. Amino acid helps to repair skin, bones and muscles! Hopefully this will help my muscles recovery quickly as well as help my skin and muscle to tone up getting rid of this sagging!


Today I spent the day with a new friend. We met a few months ago during a photoshoot and today was our first official outing! We had so much fun my cheeks hurt from laughing so much. She has the most adorable baby I have ever seen. Anyways... I went with her to base today and she had to make a quick stop to a derm doc. Before she went in her and I were discussing my arm situation. I was wondering how I would know whether what I have is fat on my arms or extra skin tissue. She asked the doctor and looks like what I have is still arm fat. Which surprisingly makes me more happy! lol At least I know if I keep working at it there is a better chance of toning them up!

Just realized I got off track about Jillian Michaels.. she has a product out called Fat Burner. Its apparently an all natural dietary supplement that will help me loss fat mass, release fat from mature fat cells. There are 56 tablets so it will last me about 2-3 weeks. So we will see if it does anything. Hopefully it will help some of these fat cells to move out quicker. I wasn't going to try any of these gimic fat burners but this one being natural extracts and by Jillian Michaels I trust it!

Hopefully these small changes over the next 2-3 weeks will help me shed the 6-8 pounds I am looking to shed by the 30th.

Honestly though while I am going to give it 110% if I can't quite get where I want to be by the 30th. It's okay! It's not like it stops here. I am still training for the marathon and going to continue a healthy way of living for the rest of my life. Feeling pretty amazing right now! :o)

I have got 7 more pounds, 1.5-2 inches around the waist, .5 around the hips, 2 inches around the belly and and couple inches around the thighs and arms to go! Seems like so little now compared to 10-12 inches I have already lost in some areas!


Lots going on over the next couple weeks with photoshoots I am going to work extra hard to complete all of my workouts and hopefully the shoots will just help the process! You would think it would be great for the arms carrying a 7 pound camera for a few hours! :o)

Friday!

I had a rather productive and busy week this week. Steve was out of town Monday-Wednesday didn't get home Wednesday until 11:30pm then had to stay late at work on Thursday for a meeting and didn't get home until 10:30pm. Normally I have a really hard time sleeping and keeping a good schedule for everything from work to eating and sleeping. But I did really well this week! I ate good I completed all of my work outs and all of my work! Even posted a few China pictures! He is unfortunately going back out of town Monday-Friday and then Thursday and Friday of the following week Geeeezzzzz... Not so happy about all that. Hopefully I can keep up the good work. And luckily he will be home on the weekends which do make it better.

This week I completed Jillian Michaels workouts Tuesday-Thursday as well as I have one to do later this afternoon. I had a photoshoot this morning so post is a little late. I also completed 33 miles since my last post! This weekend is going to be tough! My longest run yet 16 miles!!!!! I have been anticipating it for a couple weeks now. I am little nervous that I may not be able to complete it or that I will have stomach issues. I already know its going to be super tough! On the same day Steve maybe heading out for a 60 mile bike ride with a friend which is awesome! I am so proud of him!


So with 3 days or weight training, 33 miles and 2 photoshoots and eating right I had a pretty successful week! :o)

JULY!!! in 28 days I turn 30! Let the count down begin! I have 4 more weeks! I want to lose 8 pounds! Can it be done! I am not sure but I am sure going to try! It's only 2 pounds a week. I know I can do better then I did last month so I think I can get awfully close! We are climbing Mt Fuji on my birthday. Should I take my scale strip down to my skibbies on top of Fuji and weight in lol or I guess I could always weight my clothes before I leave. We will see what kind of creative thing I can come up with! :o)
