I have come a long way so far and so close to completing my goal! Counting down to my 30th birthday where I want to start the next decade happy and healthy! Please feel free to add comments! They can be words of encouragement, helpful tips or a little banter like "hey, that snickers bar isn't going to help you to your goal"!! This blog is really for me but support is always welcome and if I can inspire someone else to get off the couch and get healthy then that is great! I know first hand how fast the pounds can creep up on you and how hard it is to first decide to make a change, find a routine that works, commit to it and accomplish it! Once I complete the goal it doesn't end there. It's time to get healthy and stay healthy!

June 7th in and out

Today was a Monday! Always have so much to do on Mondays :o). I felt a little unmotivated and hard to get started because I had no plan for the day. Managed to get some work done, house cleaning, Jillian workout, made a delicious dinner and then Steve and I went out for an hour and half walk! I wanted to burn some extra calories but then ended up stopping for a shake and McDonalds.  I am embarrassed at my lack of self control. I seem to be looking for something sweet after dinner every night. From now on it's a piece of sweet fruit. When I typed in strawberry shake into "my plate" I couldn't believe how many calories, carbs and sugar was in the shake. No wonder shortly after did I get a sugar high and started laughing and acting so goofy! This is 3 days in a row now of being disappointed in food intake. Eating the proper amount of everything is really tough. And I started off doing so well. I would have had today in the bag if we had resisted the urge. sigh* tomorrow is a new day. Lets see what I can do tomorrow!

  1. I have a large bag of Hershey's extra dark chocolate (individual wrapped) and when I get a sweet tooth I eat one... it helps me and it's good for you! I got them at the Costco here. They are yummy especially when kept in the freezer!

  2. According to livestrong.com there are 60 calories in one stick of that. 3.5grams of fat. Granted it's a lot less then a milk shake. But that's still seems like a lot in just one little stick of chocolate.

I can have a cup of Strawberries for 45 cals not fat grams, same sugar level. Once I reach my goal and just want to maintain weight then Ill melt some of that chocolate and dip my strawberries in it! lol

  3. Amanda, I tried livestrong.com and it's great! A great way to watch what I eat and understand what everyday stuff or working out does for me :D
    Thanks!!!

  4. When I get full from eating I still keep eating. I know when I need to stop but I just can't help my self! lol Self control is my biggest issue.

At least you know what you need to work on. Set short term goals for your self. It's all about baby steps... Do you menu plan at all? Once a week you can have a dessert with dinner?

  5. Hey Lisa, I don't really menu plan for the whole week. Maybe I should give that a shot! I am not sure I can fit dessert into my daily budget. I am having a hard enough time fitting in just regular food. I suppose on days where I am doing far more regular activity I could squeeze in a little dessert!! This only has to go on until I reach my goal then after that I can probably eat around 1400-1600 calories to maintain. Can't wait! lol

  7. I think I have another solution! Dole Pops!
They are only 24cal per popsicle and only 6.1g of sugar I think.. They are not coming up on the livestrong website and I can read the back. But all the numbers are really low so it must be good! :O) And they are so delicious!
